About Us

Our Facilities

NTD is located in the industrial area of Onekawa in Napier. Our position in the centre of the North Island is only a few minutes away from Napier Port and Airport, making it easy to ship your products around New Zealand and to the world.

We operate from 3 sites – an injection moulding factory, a large warehouse for raw materials and finished products, and our engineering & toolmaking facility.

Our 50 Year History

Founded in 1974 by Bob Witham, NTD Plastics began its journey as Napier Tool & Die – a company that made press tools for the construction industry. A decade later, the company started focusing on injection moulding and became a part of the Tru-Test group. This allowed NTD to expand operations into the Agri-tech sector.

Our founder, Witham, was both an engineer and a toolmaker. This is where our full package of services, from design to finished product, began. It has remained an integral part of our business.

In 2016, NTD was purchased by Ross Pratt and became part of the Railblaza group. This opened new doors for us, and we began making a huge range of marine mounting products while simultaneously custom moulding parts for a wide range of customs in New Zealand and around the world.

In 2021, NTD became part of the NGH Group, which specializes in world-class marine products. The Group has companies based in New Zealand and the U.S.A.
