NTD has been designing and manufacturing the Railblaza range of marine mounting products since 2010, which, over the years, has grown into hundreds of components.

Hexx is a new addition to the product range of this Auckland-based business. Hexx is designed to hold much larger fish finder screens, sonar transducers and heavier-duty components.

The NTD design team worked closely with Railblaza’s designers, taking the product from a concept to a prototype to a finished good. Throughout this process, we aimed to optimize the design for manufacture and choose materials that ensured the parts were suitable for the high specifications required.

This project had a very tight timeline to ensure the product was in the market for summer. The tooling and design were made on time and the product launch was an instant success.
